SSP Pulwama Chairs Public Darbar at Sangerwani to Address Grievances and Strengthen Public Outreach in South Kashmir

SRINAGAR, Apr 11 : Demonstrating a proactive approach to community engagement, Police in Pulwama organised a Public Darbar at Sangerwani under the chairmanship of SSP Pulwama, Ms. Tanushree (IPS).

The darbar saw active participation from residents of several villages who raised their grievances before the police. Members of the Gujjar community, preparing for their seasonal migration towards dhokas in the Namblan axis, raised concerns regarding the verification of their dhokas. SSP Pulwama assured them that the process would be completed in a timely manner.

Families of terror victims also highlighted issues related to pending SRO cases. SSP Pulwama assured that the matter would be taken up with higher authorities for early resolution.

During the interaction, SSP Pulwama said that the police stand firmly with the public and that issues related to justice and daily life would be addressed without discrimination.

She also stressed that drug abuse is a serious social concern affecting youth and society, calling for collective responsibility from parents, teachers, and the community. She said peace can only be achieved through joint efforts of the police and public, urging people to remain cooperative and vigilant. She added that police action alone is not sufficient to eliminate social evils and emphasized the importance of public cooperation and unity.

Participants appreciated SSP Pulwama for her outreach and for patiently listening to their grievances. (Agency)
