Srinagar, Apr 14: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast largely dry weather conditions across Jammu and Kashmir for the next two days, with a brief spell of rain and thunderstorms expected from April 16 onwards.
According to the latest forecast, weather is expected to remain generally dry on April 14 and 15. However, a brief spell of light rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places towards the evening or night of April 16.
The MeT Department has predicted a change in weather conditions between April 17 and 18, when generally cloudy skies with light rain or thundershowers are expected at several places. There is also a possibility of gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 km/h, along with isolated hailstorm activity during this period.
From April 19 to 24, the weather is likely to turn dry again across most parts of the Union Territory.
Officials have issued an advisory for farmers, urging them to continue agricultural operations till April 16 in view of the expected dry spell. A rise in daytime temperatures by 2–4°C has also been predicted at many places, consistent with the seasonal warming trend observed in April across the region.
