NEW DELHI, Apr 22: On the first anniversary of the Pahalgam terror attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that India will never bow to any form of terrorism, asserting that the sinister designs of terrorists will never succeed.
The attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, was carried out by Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba on this day last year, in which 26 innocent people, mostly tourists from across India, lost their lives.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “Remembering the innocent lives lost in the gruesome Pahalgam terror attack on this day last year. They will never be forgotten.”
He added that his thoughts remain with the bereaved families as they continue to cope with the tragic loss.
“As a nation, we stand united in grief and resolve. India will never bow to any form of terror. The heinous designs of terrorists will never succeed,” he said.
Following the attack, India launched Operation Sindoor, a retaliatory military action in which Indian armed forces destroyed terror and military infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. (Agency)
