Srinagar, Apr 25: The Counter Intelligence wing of J&K Police on Saturday recovered several digital communication devices and incriminating material from inside Srinagar Central Jail during searches conducted in a terror-linked case, officials said.

The case has been registered under various sections of the erstwhile Indian Penal Code and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

Acting on credible inputs suggesting the presence of suspicious digital activity within the Central Jail premises, search operations were carried out across multiple blocks and barracks in close coordination with jail authorities, officials said.

The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) unit seized multiple digital communication devices along with other incriminating material during the operation.

Officials said the recovered devices will be sent for forensic analysis to determine possible links and communications.

The special wing of J&K Police is probing a suspected security breach that allowed such devices to enter the high-security prison.

They added that the role of facilitators and collaborators involved in the incident will be investigated, and appropriate legal action will follow. (Agencies)
