Ramban, Apr 30: In connection with the annual relocation of government offices from Jammu to Srinagar, authorities have issued a traffic advisory to ensure smooth and hassle-free movement of the secretariat convoy.
Officials said the movement of goods carriers, including heavy and medium motor vehicles (HMVs/MMVs), will be restricted on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway starting from midnight on April 30 (intervening night of April 30 and May 1, 2026).
They added that the restrictions will apply in both directions—from Jakheni in Udhampur towards Ramban, Banihal, and Srinagar, as well as from Qazigund towards Banihal, Ramban, and Udhampur.
The advisory has been issued to facilitate the safe and uninterrupted passage of government employees as part of the seasonal “Darbar Move,” a long-standing administrative practice in Jammu and Kashmir.
Authorities have urged transport operators, especially those carrying perishable goods or livestock, to plan their journeys in advance and follow loading schedules to avoid inconvenience during the restriction period. (Agency)
