Anantnag, September 12: Anantnag Police on Saturday conducted a major Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) at 20 locations in the Waghama area of the district as part of its intensified campaign against drug peddling.Officials said that 13 suspected drug peddlers were picked up for questioning during the coordinated operation.
The operation was aimed at identifying individuals linked to the illegal drug trade, dismantling local drug networks and disrupting the supply chain operating in the area.According to officials, the action forms part of a sustained and intelligence-based crackdown by Anantnag Police against individuals and networks involved in narcotics-related activities across the district.
Police reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards drug peddling, stressing that such operations will continue to be intensified to curb the growing menace of narcotics and protect the younger generation from substance abuse.The police said intelligence-based operations would remain a key component of its efforts to dismantle the drug network and ensure a safer environment for the people of the district.
