In the aftermath of the ghastly terror attack at Pahalgam, which claimed over 28 innocent lives and left many injured, Kashmiri Pandits (KPs) have raised serious concerns over the safety of minorities living in the Kashmir Valley.<\/p>\n
Prominent social activist and senior KP leader Vinod Pandita, in a statement issued on Sunday, expressed deep anguish over the prevailing security situation. He said the Pahalgam massacre has created uncertainty and fear among minority communities, including Prime Minister\u2019s Package employees, reserved category employees, minorities working in central government offices, and Kashmiri Pandits and Sikhs who chose to remain in the Valley during the peak of terrorism in the 1990s and continue to live there.<\/p>\n
Pandita strongly appealed for foolproof security measures for all minority employees, including those under the PM package and reserved categories, and for the non-migrant Pandits still residing in villages across Kashmir.<\/p>\n
He stressed the urgent need for comprehensive security arrangements to prevent further loss of innocent lives.<\/p>\n
Appealing to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Pandita urged the administration to allow minority employees to work from home until a sense of security and normalcy returns. “The community cannot afford any more loss at the hands of enemies of humanity,” he said.<\/p>\n
He also demanded that the government provide safe accommodation facilities for all PM package employees and ensure robust security for non-migrants living in remote areas, especially in view of the recent surge in terror activities orchestrated by Pakistan-sponsored militants.<\/p>\n\n
