Trusting him, the couple agreed to purchase the land for \u20b96 lakh and paid \u20b93.35 lakh initially in cash, followed by additional UPI transfers, bringing the total payment to \u20b95.62 lakh.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"922\" data-end=\"1252\">However, despite receiving the money, the accused allegedly failed to hand over possession or execute the sale deed. Later inquiries revealed that the same land had reportedly been sold to another buyer. Verification by the Tehsildar\u2019s office in Bari Brahmana also confirmed that the land was not registered in the accused\u2019s name.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1254\" data-end=\"1390\">The complainant further alleged that the accused stopped responding and refused to return the money, causing significant financial loss.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1392\" data-end=\"1517\">Following preliminary verification, investigators concluded that the accused acted with fraudulent intent from the beginning.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1519\" data-end=\"1698\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">A case under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at Police Station SCW Crime Branch Jammu, and the investigation has been assigned to Inspector Deepak Bharti.
