Srinagar, Apr 14: Expressing joy over the festival of Baisakhi, the All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) has said that the occasion should serve as a harbinger of peace and prosperity in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and across the world.<\/p>\n
In his message, APSCC Chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina said that festivals like Baisakhi bring happiness and joy among people and also provide an opportunity for different communities to come closer and exchange goodwill.<\/p>\n
He said that for Sikhs, Baisakhi is celebrated as the day of the creation of the Khalsa Panth and holds deep religious significance. He added that the youth, in particular, should follow the teachings of Guru Gobind Singh Ji for peace and development.<\/p>\n
Raina said that members of the Sikh community celebrate Baisakhi in gurudwaras across the region and appealed for unity and calm while seeking resolution of long-pending issues. He urged the community to continue praying that their concerns are addressed by the government at the earliest.<\/p>\n
Other APSCC leaders, including Ajit Singh Mastana, Principal Niranjan Singh, Navtej Singh, Sandeep Singh, Eng. Jetinder Singh, Dr. Rekhi Singh, D.P. Singh, Davinder Singh, Sant Singh, Gurdayal Singh, and others, also extended greetings on the occasion.<\/p>\n
Raina further expressed regret that successive governments in Jammu and Kashmir have not given adequate attention to the Baisakhi festival despite its importance for the Sikh community. He also highlighted issues such as neglect of the Punjabi language, unemployment, and lack of focus on Sikh cultural celebrations in the region. (Agency)<\/p>\n\n
