PM Modi Says Military Conflict Cannot Solve Crises

NEW DELHI, Apr 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday called for the peaceful resolution of ongoing conflicts in West Asia and Ukraine, stressing that military action cannot be a solution.

He made the remarks after holding talks with Austria’s Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker in New Delhi.

“Today, the entire world is going through a very serious and tense situation,” PM Modi said, adding that the impact of global tensions is being felt by all countries.

He said India and Austria are aligned in their view that military conflict cannot resolve problems.

“We support stable, sustainable, and lasting peace in Ukraine and West Asia,” the Prime Minister said.

PM Modi also noted that the Austrian Chancellor’s visit to India would bring new momentum to trade and investment ties between the two countries.

Referring to the recent India-EU Free Trade Agreement, he said a new golden chapter has begun in India-EU relations.

The Austrian Chancellor arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday on a four-day official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors. This is his first official visit to India. (Agencies)
