NEW DELHI, Apr 22: On the first anniversary of the Pahalgam terror attack, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday said that the spirit of India remains unbroken and stands firmly united against every act of terrorism.
Paying tribute to those who lost their lives, Kharge remembered the 26 civilians killed in the attack in 2025 and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families. He also saluted the courage and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces during Operation Sindoor.
“My humble tribute to the 26 citizens who lost their lives in the Pahalgam terror attack on this day in 2025. The nation will neither forget nor forgive this loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who lost their loved ones,” he said in a post on X.
He further said that citizens who lost their lives due to cross-border shelling at the border will always be remembered, adding that their sacrifice is etched in the nation’s collective conscience.
“The spirit of India stands strong, determined, and united against terrorism,” Kharge said.
The Pahalgam attack was carried out by Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba, which killed 26 people, mostly tourists from different parts of India.
Following the attack, India launched Operation Sindoor, a retaliatory military action in which Indian armed forces targeted and destroyed terror and military infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. (Agency)
