Anantnag, Apr 25: In a major intensified anti-narcotics drive, Anantnag Police registered 24 NDPS cases in a single day while conducting extensive operations against drug cultivators and peddlers across the district.
An official said police also destroyed large patches of illegal narcotic cultivation, recovered significant quantities of contraband, and arrested several drug peddlers during coordinated raids.
Meanwhile, SSP Anantnag, Amod Ashok Nagpure, said that specific drug hotspots and habitual offenders had been identified in the district prior to the crackdown. He added that intensive searches were conducted at multiple locations as part of preventive and enforcement measures under law.
He further said that Narcotic K9 squads were also deployed during the operations to detect concealed substances and strengthen on-ground enforcement.
The SSP added that movable and immovable properties of suspected drug dealers were also examined to trace financial linkages, with action including attachment of assets under law to be taken wherever required. (Agency)
