LEH, Apr 16: Ladakh Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena on Thursday distributed appointment letters to 313 newly selected district-cadre employees during a Rozgar Mela held here, an official said.
This was the second such employment fair organised within three days. Earlier on April 14, the Lieutenant Governor had handed over appointment letters to nearly 200 fresh recruits in Kargil.
The Leh Autonomous Hill Development Subordinate Services Recruitment Board (LAHD-SSRB) conducted examinations last November to fill district-cadre posts for matriculation and 10+2 levels.
Out of a total of 387 selected candidates, 313 were issued appointment letters on Thursday. Most of the recruits have been appointed in departments including Health, Revenue, Public Health Engineering, Forest, and Animal Husbandry, the official spokesperson said.
Congratulating the newly appointed employees, Saxena said the recruitment process reflected transparency and merit-based selection, ensuring fair and equal opportunity without any irregularities.
He emphasized that government service is not just a means of livelihood but also a responsibility towards society and the nation, urging the recruits to serve with dedication, honesty, and commitment to public service.
The L-G further reiterated the administration’s resolve to fill all vacant posts in a time-bound manner and replace ad-hoc arrangements with regular, transparent recruitment.
Saxena also expressed confidence that the new recruits would contribute significantly to strengthening governance and improving public service delivery in Ladakh. (Agency)
