Srinagar, Apr 11 : The Chamber of Commerce and Industries Kashmir (CCIK) on Saturday welcomed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for his firm announcement of a crackdown on drug smugglers and peddlers, stating that strict measures are essential to protect the youth of the Union Territory from the growing drug menace.
Earlier in the day, the LG launched a 100-day Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir campaign, asserting that “those destroying the future of our youth will not be spared.”
Calling the move a decisive step, CCIK President Tariq Ghani said the initiative has been widely appreciated across Jammu and Kashmir and beyond.
“It is the need of the hour to take strong action against drug peddlers to safeguard our society, especially the youth who are most vulnerable to this threat,” Ghani said.
The CCIK also assured full support to the administration’s campaign, pledging to work closely with authorities across towns and villages to curb the illegal drug trade.
Appealing to the public, the Chamber said the fight against drugs requires collective effort. “This battle cannot be won by the administration alone. We urge all sections of society to come forward and join this mission,” the statement added. (Agency)
