NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday congratulated Harivansh after he was elected as the Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha.
Following his election, leaders from both the ruling and opposition benches extended their greetings in the Upper House.
Prime Minister Modi welcomed Harivansh’s continuation in the role and expressed hope that he would further strengthen the functioning of the Rajya Sabha with fairness and efficiency.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also congratulated Harivansh, acknowledging his election to the post and wishing him success in his responsibilities.
Harivansh, a seasoned parliamentarian, will continue to preside over proceedings in the Upper House in his capacity as Deputy Chairman. (Agency)
